According to some local councillors, between the skating track and the sledge hill on the Florianseck would be a good place for a youth pavilion.

Others take a rather critical view of this, because there would be no supervision at all possible.

The commune of Putzbrunn wanted to know what their young people wanted.

The results of this survey have now been presented.

Putzbrunn

– what do young people want?

A question that the municipality of Putzbrunn is currently dealing with.

The town hall has been developing a concept for “youth work 15+” for a year.

The district youth council (KJR) conducted a survey of young people in July 2021.

An overview of the results.

The KJR wrote to 600 young people between the ages of 11 and 19 for the online survey.

120 of the younger ones up to the age of 14 answered, and 85 of the 15 to 19 year olds, said Stefan Witthauer from the Putzbrunn youth club.

Playing and sports areas are the top priority for children up to 14 (86 percent), followed by public transport and free WiFi.

Public meeting places and a youth center are important.

Good public transport connections are very popular with older people (98 percent), followed by covered meeting places in the open air.

Play and sports facilities, free WiFi and the opportunity for parties are important.

Sports facilities that can be used freely, especially basketball courts, are important, as are public spaces where leisure time can be spent.

He presented some ideas for older young people, such as covered chill-out facilities, supervised by youth work.

Consider a pavilion or covered benches.

Witthauer named the skate park at Florianseck or the basketball court in the forest colony as possible locations.

The terms of use of the youth club "Timeout" could also be changed in favor of older young people.

The meeting is currently aimed at nine to 14-year-olds.

You could open it for the 15+ age group.

More rooms and outdoor areas would then be necessary.

A public basketball court was repeatedly mentioned in the survey.

This could arise in the parking bay in front of the youth club.

The small hall could become a room for young people, as an event or concert hall, dance or sports room.

applications in prospect

The municipal councils discussed for a long time about the youth pavilion on the Florianseck, which had been desired for years.

"We can't build it there because there is no valid development plan there," said Managing Director Michael Hohberg.

"First this has to be created, we want to tackle that before the summer break."

The municipal councils agreed that something had to be done, but not all fractions want to comply with the young people's wish for an unsupervised location.

"From our point of view, a location at the new high school would be ideal, where the community still has a piece of land," said Sibylle Martinschledde (Greens) and promised: "We will submit an application there." The other groups also want to submit applications quickly.
