Only one man is currently a member of the fruit and horticultural association in Maria Thalheim.
The gardeners are therefore urgently looking for male reinforcement.
Maria Thalheim
- "We urgently need male support," said chairwoman Annemarie Schulz at the annual general meeting of the Maria Thalheim gardening association in the pizzeria L'Italiano.
Assessor Michael Maier is currently the only man in the association with 156 members.
But there is always a lot of work to be done where a strong helping hand would be an advantage.
Until now, some husbands had always helped out in such cases, according to Schulz, who explained that the club fee for adults was 18 euros and the family fee was 23 euros.
"That's a reason to register your husbands for the club and the children for our weasel group," she campaigned for new members.
Thanks to all Marienweg sponsors
Deputy Mayor Hans Rasthofer spontaneously promised the gardeners support from the building yard employees.
Because on the 9.6 kilometer long Marienweg, which the association has maintained since it was founded in 2004, some benches are broken.
At the same time, Schulz thanked all the Marienweg sponsors who regularly take care of the mowing of the benches or the care of the wayside crosses.
Treasurer Dagmar Fischer had 100 euros less in the till than in the previous year due to the Corona year.
The association traditionally donated the entire proceeds of the herb bush campaign, over 700 euros, to a good cause, this time to the Dorfen flood aid organization.
Nevertheless, the cash auditors Christina Pichlmaier and Marita Atzberger were satisfied with the cash level of 8700 euros and the good cash management.
The deputy chair Ilona Weidner reported from the district spring meeting in St. Wolfgang.
Accordingly, 37 horticultural associations with 6866 members are currently active in the district.
Weidner had brought the district's new diversity garden guides for its members, which were distributed to .
Wieselgruppe is looking forward to more members
Assessor Marianne Obermaier wants to get local children aged 10 to 15 excited about nature through the community’s holiday program in August and thus lure them to join the association’s Wiesel group.
All in all, they want to be more active with the youngsters this year, said Schulz.
Marianne Lachner and Irmgard Rosinger have been organizing the fruit pressing in the old fire station in October for 15 years and also ensure that everything runs smoothly.
The Chair thanked them with a bouquet of flowers to great applause.
Rosinger announced that he would withdraw from the organization in the future, but promised to help out at any time.
At the end of the meeting, the members were able to look forward to a small tombola with nice prizes in kind around the garden, donated by the local business community.
By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.
