The Directorate of Education in Aleppo held the French-language theatrical performance “The Beauty and the Beast” on the stage of the National Library in Aleppo, as part of the competition of the Syrian Mosaic Festival for Languages and Arts.
Nour Shamiya, Assistant Director of Secondary Education, explained that the offer comes within the work plan of the Office of the First Guidance of the French Language in the Ministry, with the aim of activating student initiatives and extra-curricular activities in line with the new curriculum, encouraging students to present their work in French and enabling their creativity.
Nadia Al-Turk, the specialist guide and coordinator of the French language in Aleppo education, said that the work is taken from an international story, and the dialogue was prepared by the teacher, Mona Nasra, and tells a popular story that revolves around a good girl who agreed to live with a monster in an abandoned palace in order to save her father's life.
The director of the work, Hikmat Nader Akkad, indicated that the students were trained on the mechanism of interaction with theater and theatrical movement, and enabled them to develop their acting abilities.
