– The 69th Lohhofer Volksfest brings with it many innovations: a new host, new beer and a new brewery.
The crippling period of the pandemic seems to be over.
It is at least important for the organizers to set an example in this regard.
As in the past, the folk festival is again on the program over Pentecost, starting on June 3rd.
The Fontenot family is new on board, with landlady Angelika at the helm.
Fontenots opted for Augustiner as their festival beer.
The measure should cost 8.80 euros.
Mayor Christoph Böck (SPD), who still has a difficult task to deal with in connection with the new festival beer, is said to have spoken of a "fair price".
Perhaps he had the beer prices at the Munich Oktoberfest in mind as a deterrent.
Immediately after the entry of this year's slimmed-down parade with innkeepers, brewery delegates, city council and flag delegations from the clubs on Saturday, June 4th, the mayor's hour will come.
Committed to tradition, it is Böck's responsibility to crack open the 50 liter beer keg.
In the past, the mayor had mastered this important task with a certain ease.
Now, however, he lacks practice.
Böck indicated that he wanted to get in shape with a few training sessions.
It is not known what came of it.
Four senior lunches due to high demand
In any case, June 3rd and with it the start of the folk festival is fast approaching.
As things stand, nothing stands in the way of a happy folk festival.
With her son, Enrico Pfleghar, landlady Fontenot has been working at the Wiesn for 30 years.
In the Augustiner tent she maintained the Radi and snack stand.
Despite the slimmed-down move, the program remains largely intact.
Also this year there will be a children's day and a family day;
on June 7th and June 12th.
Prices are discounted.
Due to the great demand, the seniors' afternoon between June 7th and 10th will be divided into four seniors' lunch tables.
41 showmen are expected at the folk festival.
When it comes to the beer garden, guests can even choose: there is a historical area with brass band music and delicacies, as well as two other beer gardens with a stage and live acts.
The highlight is the fireworks on Thursday, June 9th.
Accompanied by dramatic sounds, the spectacle stands for the end of a time that weighed heavily on both body and soul.
