The Ministry of Communications and Technology issued a decision that includes the executive instructions of Law No. 20 on regulating network communication and combating information crime.
In the decision, which SANA received a copy of today, the ministry indicated that Article 48 of the law stipulates the issuance of executive instructions by a decision of the Minister of Communications and Technology, noting that the implementation of the executive instructions of Law No. 20 and its entry into force is from the date of the law’s entry into force.
President Bashar al-Assad had issued Law No. 20 of 2022 to reorganize the criminal legal rules for information crime contained in Legislative Decree No. 17 of 2012.
The law aims to combat information crime in line with the technological development and the high rate of its spread in society, to protect legal interests, to regulate freedoms in the virtual world, and to limit the misuse of technical means.
