After a few very warm days in Bavaria, the weather conditions are changing.
The heat brings thunderstorms with it.
Severe storms can cause flooding.
Munich – The saints of ice became saints of sweat: the Bavarians felt that too in the last few days.
Meteorologist Dominik Jung had already predicted it in a weather analysis that summer temperatures were almost everywhere in the country.
However, the Sahara heat also brings thunderstorms with it.
After the hot days it can really crack.
Weather expert Jan Schenk from
The Weather Channel
even spoke of "super cells" on Monday.
Now it seems to be even more unusual.
A “rare weather phenomenon” is looming and the thunderstorms are literally exploding.
Weather in Bavaria: Thunderstorm complexes with heavy rain are intensified by the phenomenon
As
The
Weather Channel
reports on YouTube, Bavaria is expecting unusual weather conditions in the next few days.
Thunderstorm complexes form in France and cross the border around midnight and then move into the Free State.
"Unusually, the thunderstorms intensify," explains Schenk.
There is a "short wave trough" that literally "fires up" these thunderstorms.
According to Schenk, a rare weather phenomenon that can also give rise to supercells.

"So we definitely have to reckon with heavy rain," the weather expert is certain.
The thunderstorms would start as early as Friday night.
The weather.com weather map shows that the thunderstorms will rage very heavily over Middle Franconia around four o'clock and then reach Munich and Lower Bavaria around six o'clock.
This is unusual, since thunderstorms usually occur in the afternoon or evening, Schenk said.
"Strong thunderstorm activity" in Bavaria causes local flooding
In Free State there will be “strong thunderstorm activity” on Friday.
Schenk explains that heavy rain must be expected, and that "local flooding" can also occur.
Thunderstorms also bring lightning strikes.
However, he considers hail and gusts of wind to be unlikely.
However, it is an unusual situation for which one is usually "unprepared".
Expert Schenk still has good news for Bavaria for the weekend: "The weekend will be very, very nice." For Saturday and Sunday, the forecast for southern Germany shows 22 and 24 degrees respectively.
