Kaufering - It's done!
VfL Kaufering will play in the national league for the first time in its club history next season.
Coach Ben Enthart's team finally made promotion clear last night with a 5-0 home win against FC Heimertingen.
Two days before the end of the district league season, Kaufering has a nine-point lead over TV Erkheim and is therefore early champion.
After TSV Landsberg, Kaufering is only the second team from the district of Landsberg to make it into the sixth-highest German division.
When referee Moritz Osteried called off the game at 8:18 p.m., there was no holding back.
The VfL footballers celebrated the leap into the national league exuberantly in their promotion shirts, and there was plenty of free beer for the spectators.
Marcel Lex had previously ensured the 2-0 half-time lead with the first goal after his return from Austria (26th minute) and Felix Mailänder with a penalty kick (30th).
The rise was almost fixed, because one point would have been enough for VfL in this game.
Youngster Max Muha, who came on after five minutes to replace the injured Florian Bucher, made it 3-0 after the break (54th), Lex made it 4-0 with his second goal (59th) and Fabian Schwabauer made it five Minutes before the final whistle for the 5-0 final score.
Shortly thereafter, the big break began... (detailed report follows).
