For a weekend, seven artists presented their special works at "Kunst im Stoi" in Reichersbeuern.

A next exhibition is planned.

Reichersbeuern - "Kunst im Stoi" has become a popular address for lovers of wood art.

Seven artists from the Oberland exhibited their sensational and touching works in a cowshed in Reichersbeuern last weekend.

On both days there was a lot of coming and going at Raiffeisenstrasse 15.

Many small works on the largest work of art

The largest work of art was itself filled with small works: Under a large glass plate, a red-colored, widely branched and shiny polished root fascinated.

This was designed by Sepp Jaud, co-initiator of the “Art in Stoi” format.

On this table stood an extraordinary chest of drawers, its top shaped like a barrel vault.

Small inlays adorned the furniture and fascinated with the variety of colors - created by Norbert Strixner, a native of Lenggrieser.

Hobby artist worked on tool box for three years

The former financial broker now lives in Dortmund.

"But Sepp, my childhood friend from the neighboring garden, begged me to finally exhibit here." The amateur artist never did an apprenticeship or a degree in woodwork.

What was hard to believe in view of a tool box that was not for sale: the spacious chest contained modern and historical tools in five drawers and on two levels in the hinged lid.

It took three years of work.

"My two sons each got one," said the father proudly.

"Isarengel" made of driftwood and natural stone

Strixner also sold kitchen chopping boards made from several types of wood and boxes about 40 centimeters high, the design of which has models in Japan.

In these stood the small "Isar angels" of the Lenggrieserin Elke Ederer - made only of driftwood and natural stones.

The artist also uses it to make jewelry and even postcards.

A family heirloom was immortalized in a work of art

The Tölzerin Inge Friedl showed pictures from the cycle "Genesis", which was created over the course of 20 years and with the help of many artists.

The painter maintains worldwide friendships to this day.

One of her own paintings on the subject of time showed an old pocket watch overgrown in a tree.

The background story was appropriate: Friedl had immortalized a family heirloom.

"How it used to be" is what Claus Eder calls his illustrated books.

The booklet "Sport and Leisure" shows very early photographs of winter sports enthusiasts in the Oberland.

The volume "Auf der Alm" contains historical photos of mountain huts.

What seems "romantic" to today's viewers was a life full of deprivation that was written on some faces.

Artistic light sources made of wood

Werner Kirschenhofer and Sarah Bourne were unable to attend in person due to illness.

Her works spoke for themselves: the painter had small depictions of birds scattered around the room, which seemed very real because of the way they were painted.

Hollow, overgrown yew tree trunks, which Kirschenhofer had fashioned into ceiling-high lamps with light bulbs, provided a homely light.

He had turned one trunk over and cleverly hung it on a carabiner from the ceiling.

The pine lamps by Nikolaus Trischberger, Gaißach's former mayor, also had an effect.

The wooden cylinders were hollowed out to within a millimeter, allowing the bulb light to shine through in orange, adorned with the natural grain of the wood.
