Six people were killed and others injured in an explosion inside a chemical plant in the city of Kosevje, southern Slovenia.
The Slovenian Press Agency quoted local authorities as saying: The explosion occurred yesterday evening in the factory, located about 63 km southeast of the capital, and was followed by a fire, killing six people, wounding 21 others and causing damage to some nearby buildings.
The authorities suggested that the explosion was caused by human error after two chemicals were mixed together, adding that citizens were advised to stay in their homes for several hours and the explosion did not result in environmental damage.
It is noteworthy that the factory, which employs more than 200 employees, manufactures chemical products used in the industries of construction, textiles, paint, paper, tires, furniture and shoes.
