A burglary alone is bad enough.

Visits to authorities and telephone calls that victims have to make afterwards are just as time-consuming as they are unpleasant.

It is no different for Mustafa Kaya (37), whose bike shop in Herrsching was broken into on Monday night.

He hopes for clues via social media.

Herrsching

– Mustafa Kaya's (37) excitement hasn't subsided yet.

As reported, strangers broke into his bike shop "Bike Life Kaya" on Heinestraße in Herrsching on Monday night and stole nine high-quality bicycles.

The value of just one e-bike already reaches five-digit sums.

“It always depends on the equipment,” he says.

Three of the stolen bikes from the specialist shop had already been sold.

"We were just waiting for accessories or for the leasing bank to give the okay," Kaya says angrily.

"Mussi", as Kaya's friends and customers call the dealer, is pissed off.

Due to the many delivery difficulties during the corona pandemic, there are currently only limited quantities of the coveted e-bikes and long waiting times.

His only consolation is that he has insurance.

But that doesn't lighten his mood any further.

"That won't get me the bikes back," he says.

Kaya only moved from Gewerbestrasse to Heinestrasse 3 in November.

This year, the 37-year-old is celebrating his tenth company anniversary.

"It wasn't necessary," he says, meaning the burglary.

He published all the details of the nine stolen Giant and Liv bikes on social media under the hashtag #bikelifekaya.

In the hope that the wheels will turn up again or that there will be clues to the perpetrator or perpetrators.

"I reached 25,000 people with my first post alone, and it was shared 148 times," he says enthusiastically.

That's why he doesn't give up hope and keeps those who follow him informed.

"He's been to the store a couple of times," Kaya says of the man caught on surveillance footage.

The slim man is wearing a blue jacket with appliqués and a gray baseball cap with a black peak.

Kaya had already noticed him through the camera: "He was standing in front of the shop window," he says.

"His shaved head is striking," the police said yesterday after evaluating all the recordings.

"Unfortunately, there is no footage of the bikes being released," says Kaya.

The perpetrator sprayed paint on the camera and destroyed the alarm system.

"According to current estimates, the damage to stolen bikes, scratches from overturned wheels, damage to the building and furnishings is between 60,000 and 80,000 euros," says the master two-wheeler mechanic.

He now wants to upgrade the security system and connect to the security service.

"That's just terribly expensive" - but better than another burglary.
