At the end of April, the police were called to a betting shop because of a robbery.

But there were more and more inconsistencies - now the matter is clear.

Kempten – April 29, just after 11 p.m.: The police in Kempten are called to a betting shop on Klostersteige.

A masked man used a pistol to demand the return of the cash stored.

After receiving this under threat of a weapon, he fled.

The police immediately initiated a search and reported a success a short time later.

The 19-year-old suspect resisted arrest, but ended up in prison.

That's roughly what the message was at the beginning of May, when the police reported a quick search success after a robbery.

Investigations by the public prosecutor's office and the Kempten criminal police now shed a different light on the incident.

Police Kempten showed a real nose: Armed robbery on betting shop only faked

Because of the seriousness of the crime, according to the police, extensive investigations and investigations into the armed robbery were carried out by the public prosecutor's office and the criminal police during the night and over the weekend.

The murder weapon – a deceptively real-looking alarm pistol – and several thousand euros in cash were also found on the suspect.

However, the more deeply the officers examined the incident, the more doubts there were about the initially assumed actions of the 19-year-old, according to the police report.

Within a short time, the employee of the betting shop was also targeted by the investigators.

The suspicions were substantiated, an investigation was initiated - and finally evidence was secured that confirmed the suspicions of the investigators.

Fraud: The list of allegations against the two perpetrators is long

In the meantime, the suspicion is also official: the employee and the suspect were in cahoots during the alleged armed robbery in Kempten.

Together they wanted to get the cash from the betting shop, the motive being lack of money.

According to the police, there are also partial confessions in this regard.

According to the police report, the attempted fraud will have "tangible consequences" for the perpetrators.

The police write: “The investigations into both men for jointly faking a crime, violating the weapons law and embezzling money are still ongoing.

With regard to the 19-year-old, there are also violations of the Narcotics Act and the allegation of resisting law enforcement officers.”

Claims for damages and consequences under labor law on the part of the betting office are of course also to be expected.
