Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann is suspected of corruption - but he doesn't want to let the possible cup party with Eintracht Frankfurt be taken away.
Frankfurt – Because the public prosecutor's office is investigating Mayor Peter Feldmann (SPD) on suspicion of accepting benefits in office, representatives of the coalition of Greens, SPD, FDP and Volt asked him to hold back on representative appointments.
Alone in vain: This is how Feldmann opened the Dippemess'.
He celebrated promotion to the DEL on the Römerbalkon with the Frankfurter Löwen.
This is what he said at the DGB rally on May 1st.
He received Nobel Prize winner Benjamin List in the Römer's Limpurgsaal, as reported by fnp.de.
Despite allegations of corruption: Frankfurt's mayor wants to receive SGE in victory
Before Easter, the mayor of Frankfurt, who is suspected of corruption, had announced that he wanted to "use a sense of proportion in public appearances and events".
That's why Falko Görres from the satirical party "The Party" asked in the city parliament's question time: "Is the magistrate planning to hold a reception on May 19th in the Römer on the occasion of a cup victory for Eintracht, and if so, who will represent Peter Feldmann?"
On Wednesday, May 18, Eintracht Frankfurt will play the final of the Europa League against Glasgow Rangers in Seville.
The mayor answered the question himself, his left hand in his pocket. "In the event of a victory, the mayor would be happy to welcome Eintracht."
He will be "moderate in jubilation".
"I don't need a scarf in this weather."
Frankfurt: Mayor would take over Eintracht reception
The mayor rejected Görres' suggestion to help out in the registry office.
As a precaution, the registry office in the Römer has canceled wedding dates for May 19 due to the expected rush of fans to the Römerberg, but has a branch in Höchst.
Feldmann refused to take over the work in the registry office because: "I would need a 14-day training course in Bad Salzschlirf for that. I can't do that until May 19."
Mayor Nargess-Eskandari-Grünberg (Greens) would "sacrifice herself" and relieve the mayor of the representation appointment, as she said when asked by this newspaper.
