Dozens of Palestinians were injured today as the Israeli occupation forces attacked the funeral procession of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh while trying to get him out of the French hospital in occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Wafa Agency stated that the occupation forces beat the mourners with batons and fired poison gas canisters at them, forcing them to re-enter Abu Aqila's body to the hospital, and dozens of them suffocated.
Since the morning, the occupation forces reinforced their presence in the vicinity of the French hospital, closed the roads leading to it, and seized the Palestinian flags carried by the mourners.
Abu Aqila was martyred last Wednesday morning while covering the Israeli aggression on Jenin camp, when the occupation forces targeted her with a bullet in the head, which drew widespread Palestinian, Arab and international condemnation and calls for an international investigation into this crime.
