At the annual meeting of the Greens in Bad Tölz, the new board of directors was elected.

They looked back with satisfaction on their successes of the past few months.

Bad Tölz -

There were some successes for the local branch of the Tölzer Grünen, for which they could pat themselves on the back at the annual general meeting on Monday.

With 36 members, they are now the largest local association in the district, which has a total of 221 members.

They also increased significantly in the last local elections.

They currently have seven seats on the city council, making them the second largest group behind the CSU.

An amazing upswing when you consider that they ran for the city council for the first time 20 years ago and were able to immediately win two seats with Franz Mayer and Peter Priller.

Largest local branch in the district

Of course, they are still a long way from one of their primary goals of making the city of Bad Tölz climate-neutral by 2035.

"A lot still has to happen in Bad Tölz for this to work," emphasized Thomas Maurer, the old and new spokesman for the local association.

"Sometimes it was annoying with the online events," he looked back at the compulsory Corona break and said: "It's nice that we can get together again directly."

Franz Mayer criticism of the free voters

Franz Mayer, who is known to be resigning from his mandate, then gave his last report from the city council: "At the age of 63, that's good too.

Now the younger ones should get involved.” Of course, he still hasn’t gotten over the fact that the Greens were slowed down by the other city council factions in the mayoral elections and also lamented the frosty relationship with Mayor Ingo Mehner (we reported).

At the annual meeting, Mayer also denounced the Free Voters as "the First Mayor's most loyal pillars".

“If we as Greens want to shape future city politics, then we have to become the strongest group.

Otherwise we will continue to be ignored in the future.”

In the new board elections, Juliane Fechner-Kempkes and Thomas Maurer were elected as spokespersons, Sandra Schönpflug as secretary and Peter Knoblich as assessor.

For example, they want to get closer to the citizens with neighborhood walks and convince the voters of their program in terms of personnel and content.

One focus will be the creation of affordable housing.
