The Sport- und Tourismuscenter Irschenberg GmbH was founded with great expectations.
The community and the Kreissparkasse Tegernsee-Miesbach wanted to lease the 5,000 square meter property, which is located south of McDonald's in the Wendling commercial area and belongs to the community.
Now, almost ten years later, the partnership is dissolved.
According to Luitpold Grabmeyer from the Kreissparkasse, who acts as managing director of the GmbH, the fact that the municipality of Irschenberg is no longer a partner of the Kreissparkasse is a legally prescribed process.
The background to this is that a municipality may not be purely private-sector.
This is the case with the leasing of the shop building, which is shared by the FC Bayern Munich fan shop and, more recently, the fast-food restaurant Kentucky Fried Chicken.
This was noticed during a joint examination as part of the search for a successor for the Quiksilver store that had been eliminated.
The community could not comment on this.

At the beginning of the partnership, the commitment of the municipality was legitimized by the 22 square meter tourist information center - the "Servus!" welcome center of the district's own tourism company Alpenregion Tegernsee Schliersee (ATS).
But after the "Servus!" start in December 2013, the ambitious tourism project was not under a lucky star.
In January 2016, the contact point, which also sold products from value producers from the region, was closed again - for cost reasons.
The customer frequency remained below expectations, it was said at the time.

After almost two years of vacancy, the neighboring Quiksilver store, which had occupied the third unit from the start, also took over the free retail space in the middle in December 2017.
But here, too, business luck failed to materialize.
As part of the Corona lockdown, the Quiksilver store had to announce its closure.
It took place in March 2020;
in addition, insolvency proceedings were opened.
For the Sport- und Tourismuscenter Irschenberg GmbH the new search for a tenant began.
And this also took time.
In May 2021, the municipality of Irschenberg announced that the Kentucky Fried Chicken hen chain would take over the 354 square meter floor space next to the FCB store.
Work is currently underway on the fast food restaurant in the immediate vicinity of McDonald's and Dinzler.
It was not yet known when it would open.
