After several days of heavy rain, a landslide accident occurred. Among them, the dog shelter "Kelly Animals Shelter (KAS)" located on Shenwan Road, Lau Fau Shan, a nearby retaining wall collapsed, causing part of the site to be covered with mud. Two of the dogs, "Big White" and "Dup Dup", unfortunately died unexpectedly because they could not avoid it.
The shelter posted on Facebook that it is saddened by the incident. This year, the site has undergone works to improve the environment, but the retaining wall involved does not belong to the site, which is an unfortunate accident.
The shelter went on to point out that it believed that the relevant authorities would carry out a series of repairs and soil conservation works, which may affect some areas and dogs, and hoped that enthusiastic people could help temporarily care or adopt dogs.
At around 3 pm yesterday (12th), a woman reported a landslide in Shaqiao Village, Shenwan Road, Lau Fau Shan. The affected area was 3 meters by 3 meters. Although no one was injured in the incident, her dog was injured.
After being rescued by firefighters and staff from the Love Association, it was confirmed that the two dogs were unfortunately killed.
