Taufkirchen - Mayor Stefan Haberl was able to report on some highs in his first presence citizens' meeting in the Taufkirchen citizens' hall.

Not all are necessarily pleasing.

The number of inhabitants is higher than ever with 10,760 people and the number of employees of the municipality with 110 people.

In addition to the record budget of almost 50 million euros, the income tax portion grew to 6.6 million euros and the key allocations to 2.8 million euros.

But the district levy of 6.2 million euros and the debt level of 23.7 million euros also have to be paid.

"The liquid funds of 1.5 million euros were already lower," says Haberl.

Above all, the new construction of the middle school, calculated at 37.5 million euros, takes up the finances of the community.

Subsidies of almost 15 million euros can be expected, so the community's own contribution is over 22 million euros.

But delivery problems and price increases are also causing problems for the people of Taufkirchen.

With a price increase of 20 percent, the school could cost 40.9 million euros or even 45.6 million euros with an increase of 50 percent.

Haberl emphasized once again that you have to drive on sight.

Especially since further cost-intensive investments are pending, especially in the care area.

He mentioned the expansion of the Pauli Bekehr children's home, which is estimated at almost 2.8 million, and the new Gutswiese children's home, which is to be realized in 2023 and 2024.

Rooms for a family doctor and a midwife practice as well as the center of the family and apartments for employees of the children's home are to be created here.

The renovation, expansion and energy saving measures at the sewage treatment plant are not exactly cheap.

Haberl estimated this work at over 5.1 million euros, the expected donations at 1.1 million euros.

In addition, the pumping station of the old sewage treatment plant has to be renovated, which will cost around 530,000 euros, and the sewer renovation is expected to cost 210,000 euros.

Haberl also informed about further investments, for example for broadband expansion, fire brigade or mobility concept.

The new DLRG vehicle hall at the forest pool and the teaching pool have been postponed for an uncertain period of time.

According to the cost forecast (from 2020), the latter will devour 7.8 million euros.

Taufkirchen's mayor was also able to report on a diverse cultural program, on facilities such as the local history museum, which is now open every first Sunday of the month from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the prehistoric museum, which received the culture prize in 2021, or the dwarf forest, whose chapel is open on May 26th , celebrating 20 years with a May prayer at 5 p.m. (report to follow).
