Anyone who drives through the Sauerlach Nord car park on the B13 at the weekend must expect to be recorded by a measuring device.
But don't panic: no offenses will be determined.
Sauerlach - The built-up measurement technology is used in a research project commissioned by the Federal Environment Agency to determine the noise behavior of motor vehicles that are registered in Germany.
The company Müller-BBM GmbH from Planegg set up the measuring station over the weekend on behalf of the federal authority and wants to use it to record the speed and technical data of at least 1000 vehicles.
Data are used to analyze vehicle noise development
As the responsible employee explains, the recorded data serves as the basis for various analyzes relating to the noise development of vehicles.
For example, the data can be used to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of applicable limit values for motor vehicles in the type approval process.
No personal data is recorded during the measurement
The employee emphasizes that the measurements did not determine any offenses within the meaning of the road traffic regulations.
For example, no speed violations will be investigated.
Personal data was not collected at any time.
Only technical data would be determined via the vehicle registration number, for example the permissible total weight of the vehicle.
All data collected would be made available exclusively to the Federal Environment Agency.
The measuring station is to be dismantled again in the course of Monday.
