Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded today (Friday) to the arrest of the suspect in the threats against Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and his family - Ilana Sporta Haniya.
Sporta Hania, a 65-year-old Ashkelon resident, is known as a Likud activist and Netanyahu supporter, and in recent days photos of her with him and other Likud officials have been circulated.
According to Netanyahu, "If she did what was attributed to her, her membership in the Likud would end."
Netanyahu added that he condemned all forms of violence - against a prime minister or anyone else.
Sporta Hania's detention was extended until Sunday and her lawyer said she denied what was attributed to her.
This is a woman who is very active on social networks, and speaks out strongly against the prime minister, including an article about Bennett's picture "a murderer to the trial, the people will not give up on you" and "Bennett, only the silence of your heart will bring salvation."

About two weeks ago, security officials in the Prime Minister's Office decided to step up security for Bennett's family, following the threatening letter.
This, after one of them aimed at his son, Jonathan.
In August, an indictment was filed against a 45-year-old man from Kiryat Gat, who called the police station and threatened to harm Bennett.
Lachish police located the man in Kiryat Gat, and during the interrogation he linked himself to the incident and confirmed that he planned to harm the prime minister.
At a previous court hearing, the woman denied sending the letters.
Attorney Eli Masterman, who then represented her on behalf of the Public Defender's Office, claimed that an investigator threatened her that her husband and children would be arrested, but police denied this.
The lawyer argued that the offenses attributed to her "have nothing to do with reality".
According to him, in any case this is not a serious suspicion of threats.
