The referendum on Kreuzlinger Feld has an impact on the city's school development planning.

Because no primary school will be built on the field in the next three to four years, the decision to build a new church school will be expanded.

Germering – The current school development plan stems from the demographic study from March 2021. It sees a need for four additional primary school classes per year, i.e. four classes, for the city area.

Two were calculated for the church school district, one for the Kleinfeld school and one for the residents of Kreuzlinger Feld.

To compensate for this, a four-stream elementary school was planned for the new building area there.

These plans initially became obsolete with the outcome of the referendum, explained Mayor Andreas Haas in the city council.

It was therefore considered to expand the planned new building of the church school.

Only a four-stream elementary school was supposed to be built here.

Now it should be his six-stream school.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

According to treasurer René Mroncz, this is necessary because the additional need for the church school and the Kleinfeld school will arise within the next three to four years.

Until then, nothing will be built at Kreuzlinger Feld.

However, initial discussions with the government of Upper Bavaria, which has to approve the school supplies, were unsatisfactory.

Social services manager Martin Rattenberger reported that the government only sees a need for a total of two additional classes for the entire city area.

However, the state authority assumes a larger class occupancy than the city.

According to Rattenberger, the government did not take into account that in more than 50 percent of the primary school classes in Germeringer, the proportion of migrants is so high that the classes are only allowed to take a maximum of 25 students.

The city will now be presented with the detailed calculation again and will show that three new trains are necessary.

From the point of view of the Treasury, the new plan has no impact on the budget.

Because the school at Kreuzlinger Feld will not be built initially, the city has some financial leeway.
