The city is building a new day-care center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Strasse.

Among other things, it should have two gardens and plenty of parking space for bicycles.

Geretsried – The planned day-care center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Strasse is taking on more and more concrete forms.

The commissioned architectural offices "die-grille" from Penzberg for the exterior and "Degle.Degle" from Munich for the interior design presented their ideas to the building and environmental committee on Tuesday.

As reported, construction work is scheduled to begin in 2024 and the facility will offer space for almost 200 children from 2025/26.

The new day-care center is to be built near the playground on Robert-Schumann-Weg.

An elongated structure is planned, the short side parallel to Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße.

The forest path that leads through the green area should be largely preserved, explained landscape architect Harry Dobrzanski.

About a third has to be swiveled slightly to create space for a parking lot.

Committee discusses: Would it be better to have more or fewer parking spaces?

Dobrzanski is planning around 20 employee parking spaces and a separate pick-up and drop-off area for parents with separate entrances and exits.

The landscape architect suggested ten to twelve parking spaces, which the committee would have to decide on.

Patrik Kohlert (Geretsrieder Liste) was of the opinion: "I'd rather have three or four more parking spaces, that'll be a big facility." And it's also parents' evening.

Martina Raschke (Greens), on the other hand, said that the parking space should not be overused.

"We want to reduce individual traffic," says the city councilwoman.

Dobrzanski also pointed out that parking spaces are a signal.

Ewald Kailberth (CSU) also feared that the parking spaces could then be used more by people from the area.

From the parking lot or a car-free forecourt, turn right along the building to the entrance.

The way there should also be used for plenty of bicycle and pram parking facilities.

"A nice solution", Joachim Abel from "Degle.Degle" architects praised his colleague.

The planners wanted a zebra crossing directly in front of the new day-care center so that parents can walk and cycle safely with their children.

"We also want to optimize the bike path connection in the area," announced Mayor Michael Müller (CSU).

Nursery rooms should be a little bigger

Architect Abel explained the spatial concept.

Two "packages" are created on the ground floor, each with two group rooms, toilets and bedrooms for the crèche children.

The areas will be a little larger than provided for in the funding guidelines, namely the same size as the kindergarten rooms on the upper floor.

“In this way we can stack the packages directly on top of each other.

The premise is: as economical as possible,” explained the architect.

The facility will also have an elevator, a dining room, therapy rooms, waiting rooms for parents and offices for management staff, among other things.

A possibility to top up is not taken into account.

A spacious open space is planned on the south side of the building.

"We want to preserve as many trees as possible," promised Dobrzanski.

For safety reasons, a smaller area for the crèche children is being built directly at the daycare center.

“We have a natural play area in mind,” says the landscape architect.

Kohlert thought that was wonderful.

But "the great experience is play equipment," he said.

Dobrzanski added that they were also thought of.

Overall, the rough sketch was well received by the committee.

"Green, well thought-out, modern", summed up Martina Raschke.

Heidi Dodenhöft (FW) also found everything “very appealing”.

The committee approved further planning on this basis with one dissenting vote (Kohlert).
