Russia announced the expulsion of 10 Romanian diplomats in response to a similar measure taken by Bucharest against Moscow last month.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by Russia Today that it had summoned the Romanian ambassador to Moscow, Christian Estratey, and handed him a note stating that 10 employees of the Bucharest embassy were considered persona non grata on Russian territory.
The statement indicated that "this measure comes in response to the unjustified decision by the Romanian side on the fifth of last month to declare ten diplomats in the Russian embassy persona non grata," noting that the Russian side strongly rejects the Romanian side's unjustified attempts to blame Russia without presenting No evidence of war crimes in Ukraine.
The statement condemned Bucharest's approach aimed at whitewashing the violations committed by the nationalist battalions against civilians, as well as the continuation of exports of weapons, military equipment and other types of support to the Kyiv regime.
Earlier today, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion of an employee of the Bulgarian Embassy in Moscow.
