Miesbach

– The former CEO Georg Bromme (73) and the former district administrator Jakob Kreidl (69) admitted mistakes yesterday before the board of directors of the Kreissparkasse Miesbach-Tegernsee and apologized for their behavior.

The Board of Directors unanimously accepted the apologies.

This means that the two can hope for lighter penalties when the verdict is reached in the savings bank process next week.

Kreidl looks visibly taken when he performs

For Kreidl it was already the second appearance before the committee.

He had already apologized in March 2019.

Now, in the course of the new edition of the process, the demand had been brought to him again.

According to district administrator Olaf von Löwis, who is chairman of the board of directors, Kreidl made a very detailed and convincing statement and admitted that his behavior had also caused inconvenience for the employees of the district savings bank.

"I made mistakes," he said, according to Löwis.

Kreidl seemed visibly upset when he appeared.

The board of directors unanimously accepted the apology after a short discussion.

Need for discussion after Bromme's explanation

The committee saw a little more need for discussion at Bromme.

He had still refused an apology in 2019 and also had to apologize to the bank's staff council in the sense of perpetrator-victim compensation.

While Kreidl had previously come to the meeting alone, Bromme entered the meeting room accompanied by his lawyer.

The personal statement from the former bank boss was much shorter.

Bromme said, among other things, that he was taking full responsibility for the allegations that were being made.

"The explanation was obviously not easy for him," reports Löwis.

Although the 73-year-old's voice trembled and he had tears in his eyes, the apology did not immediately convince all administrative and staff councils.

The discussion as to whether to accept it took much longer than with Kreidl.

Bromme was, it was said at the meeting,

With its unanimous resolutions, which were immediately transmitted by telephone to the district court in Munich, the Board of Directors has put a temporary end to the sponsorship affair.

According to Löwis, the building no longer has much in common with the Sparkasse from back then.

"The bank has worked through the matter intensively and is now moving in a new, modern waterway," emphasizes the district administrator.

"The staff who were most distressed by the affair stand behind her leadership today."

Compensation of 25,000 euros

In addition to the apology, Bromme will also make reparations of 25,000 euros to the savings bank after the procedure has been completed.

He had already explained this in writing during the first proceedings at the district court via an external arbitrator.

The money is currently held in escrow awaiting release.
