According to most surveys, Wüst and Kuchaty are often on a par or just ahead of each other.
A survey by the opinion research institute Infratest dimap, commissioned by WDR, put the CDU at 31 percent on April 3, 2022, while the SPD at 30 percent.
Other institutes see the SPD ahead of the Christian Democrats.
