The men's highest-ranking tennis club in the district is back in action.

The national league players of TC Gauting start the season on Sunday and have to deal with a big chunk at home from 10 a.m.

Gauting

– Not much has changed in the player squad of the national tennis league TC Gauting in the past few months.

Shortly before the end of the change period, there was an unpleasant surprise.

Marcus Brede switched to TC Grün-Weiß Gräfelfing.

"It came as a surprise and was annoying because our squad isn't that big," says Maurice Mall.

He is the new team leader of the TCG, his predecessor Lukas Bullemer has taken over the men's 30.

Both will continue to play for the men's team in the Landesliga.

The goal for the new round is not surprising.

"We want to hold the class again," declares Mall.

Last season, the Würmtaler could only save themselves on the last day of the game with a 5:4 in Wolfratshausen.

This time, the people of Gauting don't want to tremble to the end.

At the start on Sunday (10 a.m., tennis court on Leutstettener Straße), a supposedly tough nut awaits.

Bayernliga relegated TC Grün-Weiß Vilsbiburg is a guest.

"Of course, you will only see how strong the opponent is when you look at the line-up," says Mall.

Like most opponents in the state league, Vilsbiburg is a blank slate for the TCG.

“We were divided into the other national league group.

Last season we only played against Luitpoldpark,” says Mall.

He likes that.

"I like playing against new opponents," said the new captain.

The core of the team will be Denny Vojtischek, Jacub Nicolussi, Marco Wenk, Bullemer and Mall.

Leon Abramovic and Anze Kapun will intervene depending on the personnel and table situation.

"Of course, that's also a question of the budget," says Mall, with regard to the remuneration that Abramovic and Kapun receive for their assignments.

So the Gautingers have one or two ace up their sleeve to secure their place in the league again.

Abramovic will strengthen the team on Sunday.

Together with Denny Vojtischek, the Croatian should lead the TCG to victory.

“Leon was very strong last season.

And with Denny we really hope that he can build on his strong performances last year until his injury,” says Mall.
