Emmanuel Macron claimed to have chosen his next prime minister… but without revealing his identity.

This game of hide-and-seek would be anecdotal if it did not reflect the confusion that marks the beginning of this second term: no one really knows where the reinvested president is going.

And that's quite logical,

since he didn't campaign.

Mobilized on the Ukrainian file and probably judging, following Cardinal de Retz, that one can only get out of ambiguity to his detriment, Emmanuel Macron was re-elected more on his person than on his project.

And it was not his inauguration speech last Saturday that clarified things a lot.

He affirmed with conviction that he wanted

to “act relentlessly with a goal, that of being a more independent nation, of living better and of building our French and European responses to the challenges of our century”.
