The organizers of the flag parade this week submitted a request to the Jerusalem District Police to hold a huge march of tens of thousands of marchers on Jerusalem Day, May 29, from the center of Jerusalem to the Western Wall plaza through the Nablus Gate.
As part of the request, details of which reached Israel Today, the applicants stated that "the day of the liberation of Jerusalem is the time to strengthen the integrity of the city and to give expression to total opposition to its division."

According to the requested event, the flag parade will begin on stages in central Jerusalem, where a mass dance will be held with the participation of tens of thousands of teenagers and adults, who are expected to arrive in the capital on a Jerusalem holiday.
Afterwards, a march will begin in the direction of the Western Wall, in which the tens of thousands expected to participate in the flag parade will pass through the Nablus Gate and Hagai Street, and from there to the Western Wall plaza, where a huge rally will be held to end Jerusalem Day.
Tens of thousands of marchers will arrive in Jerusalem by many buses from all over the country.
As you may recall, on May 10, 2021, on Jerusalem Day last year, rocket fire at Jerusalem and the surrounding communities caused the parade to stop, which continued later, but did not pass through the Nablus Gate.
The police noted with reference to the possibility of the flags marching at the Nablus Gate: "The work of the headquarters and the preparations are just beginning. We will act and do everything necessary for the proper and safe existence of the parade as every year."

Discussions and approvals of plans regarding Jerusalem Day will begin next week.
However, the police have already clarified that the intention is to allow the parade to take place on the same route as it has taken place in recent years.

Meanwhile, police districts are preparing to mark Nakba Day this coming Sunday.
In previous years, the day has passed without any special events, but this year in the face of security tensions and the sharp rise in the number of warnings about the terrorist organizations' intention to carry out attacks, the police were instructed to be vigilant.
In addition, police forces will be concentrated near localities and places where disturbances are expected, in order to reach them quickly and prevent them at the beginning.
