Starnberg – After two years, carnival is coming back to Lake Starnberg.

The Perchalla carnival society is confident that the coming season will be largely normal and has already announced numerous events.

On Saturday, May 14, the association will take part in the opening of the "See and the City" event in Starnberg.

On Sunday, May 15, the first Perchalla flea market will take place and in June the Gardens want to show new choreographies at “Starnberg Moves”.

The Garden are starting training these days, explains Perchalla spokeswoman Melanie Riedl.

At the club's open day at the end of April, numerous newcomers were recruited, who are now primarily to complement the children's and youth guards.

The newly elected board is already organizing the upcoming activities.

At the opening of "See and the City" in Starnberg there will be coffee, cake and waffles

The last time you heard anything from the carnival party was on Shrove Monday.

The guards showed a small group of family members and friends the choreographies they had rehearsed in the Schlossberg Hall.

The pandemic situation did not allow for more.

But now the situation has relaxed and it is possible to meet again in a larger circle.

According to Melanie Riedl, the club hopes that this will remain the case.

Because the association, chaired by the re-elected 1st President Andreas Denk, wants to be involved on Saturday with a food stand with cakes, waffles and coffee at the opening of the municipal event "See and the City" at the station square, which will take place between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m Lots of activities and live music.

Guard appearances already in June

On June 26, Perchalla would like to feed the guests at the "Starnberg Moves" event and show what the Gardens have learned in the first few weeks.

The club's monthly flea markets will also be back, explains Melanie Riedl, as well as the internal summer party and the final trips for the active groups.

They want to take part in the city's holiday program again this year and train with the guards in the gym in Percha.

The flea market on Sunday 15 May will take place from 7am to 3pm near the nature reserve at the SC Percha football field.

The open day brought many new members

The youth have already started training.

The adults start next week with numerous new faces.

Because with dance performances and a make-up campaign on the open day, numerous new members of the Guard could be won, especially children.

"But we're still at the beginning," says Melanie Riedl.

Therefore it is still possible to join one of the groups.

In addition to the Mini Guard and the Youth Guard, there is a Prince Guard and a dance formation called "One Million Dollar Girls" at the Perchalla carnival society.

Financially, the association was able to “stay afloat” during the Corona period, explains the spokeswoman, referring to the subsidies from the city and district, to sponsorship money, membership fees and income from the rental of the association bus.

New board elected

Perchalla is managed by Andreas Denk.

Tobias Schlott was elected as his deputy (2nd President) and Florian Krapmfenbauer (formerly 2nd President) as 3rd President.

1st youth officer remains Andreas Ferzandi, 2nd youth officer is Angelika Effenberger, treasurer Heidi Lehmann and secretary Birgit Lindner.

Despite numerous events in the run-up to the carnival season, the focus is now on training for the enthronement of the royal couples, which will take place after November 11th, 2022.

Usually on the Saturday after the start of carnival.

This year, however, the date has not yet been set.

The reason for this is the renovation of the Schlossberghalle in Starnberg, where the event with performances by all the Gardens takes place every year.

The carnival society may have to move to another hall this year.
