Marcelo Pecci, special prosecutor against drug trafficking, money laundering and terrorist financing in Paraguay and Claudia Aguilera were married on April 30 in Cartagena.
The couple had chosen this charming seaside town on the Caribbean coast, which is very popular with tourists, especially for its old colonial town.
Marcelo and Claudia had stayed at the Decameron hotel, which boasts a superb beach of fine sand lapped by the warm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, on the Baru peninsula, far from the hubbub of the tourist town.
The island of Baru is a secluded and quiet place, protected by its mangroves, a forest that pushes its feet into the sea and makes access difficult.
It takes forty minutes by boat to reach it from Cartagena.
