2022-05-13T15:43:35.643Z

The coffin, which was covered by the Palestinian flag, has been about to fall to the ground when the agents have dissolved the congregants who were leaving the hospital

This Thursday, the funeral for the Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Aklehha, has ended with a confrontation between the Israeli police and Palestinian citizens who were carrying the coffin.

The altercation occurred outside the Jerusalem hospital where the journalist's body had been kept.

Dozens of people have been injured during the clashes, according to the Quds News Network news agency.

In fact, as can be seen in the video, the police officers charged the people accompanying the coffin, accusing them of throwing stones at them.

In addition, they have tried to dissolve the funeral, leading to a moment in which the coffin was about to fall to the ground.

The reporter, who was assassinated in the early hours of May 11, had been covering the Arab-Israeli conflict for two decades and was killed during a shootout in Jenin, West Bank, while covering the military operation for the Al Jazeera television network.

And, although it is still unknown who is behind her death, the Palestinian authorities blame the Israeli forces for the crime.

An accusation that, at first, the Government of Israel flatly denied, however, now they do not rule out that their army was behind the murder of the journalist.

Now, Washington and Brussels demand an investigation to clarify the facts.
