According to the Günzenhausen boys' club, they want to "bring new impetus and new ideas into local club life".

And the beginning has already been made.

Günzenhausen

– For two years, club life at the Günzenhausen boys’ club stood almost at a standstill due to Corona.

But at Easter the boys got back in touch - and have already held three events and elected a new board of directors.

The boys' association invited to the "Ostermo-Brenna" on Holy Saturday on the soccer field.

"While the fire in a container drove away the cold outside, grilled sausages and a small bar tent provided warmth inside.

The long-awaited first event after Corona, with many small and large guests, became an icebreaker after two years of standstill," says the boys' report.

Two days later, the annual general meeting, including new elections, was on the agenda.

"With a significantly younger board of directors," the fraternity club would like to "bring new impetus and new ideas into local club life," they say.

Georg Kranz was elected chairman, his deputies are Lukas Wildgruber and André Winklmair.

Michael Hechenberger, who is supported by Andreas Heggemann, takes care of the finances.

Secretary is Leonhard Renauer, ensign Christian Loris.

Only a few days after the meeting there was the first stress test for the new board of directors: A maypole was put up again in Günzenhausen.

While the Günzenhausen girls tied the garlands, it was up to the boys to fetch the 36 meter long traditional bar from the Kranzberg forest, prepare it and guard it.

On May 1st, more than 60 helpers turned up to set up the tree with swallows donated by Martin Wildgruber and under the direction of Josef Meir.

At the May Festival that followed, which was organized in cooperation with the Wirtsberg Café, all the helpers received scrambled eggs made by Bernhard Heggemann and Florian Prinzbach.

The guests could look forward to rolled roast with potato salad, which was served by Andreas Heggemann and Tobias Lachner.

Now the Günzenhausen boys hope that other events can also take place as planned.

“The boys’ association with its activities – which include putting up a maypole or an almost 50-year history of the carnival parade – is essential for growing into and growing together in the village community.

For this reason, the association is looking for young, motivated boys aged 16 and over who want to actively help shape village life,” the boys report.

Next up is the annual summer festival on July 9th.

More detailed information can be found on the boys' social media channels.
