Fabrice Nodé-Langlois explains, the sixth wave of European sanctions taken on Wednesday attacks “

the real engine of the Russian economy

”, its hydrocarbons.

Because if Russian oil represents only 26% of black gold purchases in Europe, more than half of Russia's oil revenues come from its European customers: 70 billion euros in 2021, four times more than gas .

But nothing is won.

First, these new sanctions will automatically raise the price of a barrel, thus cushioning the financial loss...
