Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian denounced the unilateral embargo imposed by the US administration on Iran and Cuba, stressing the need for Tehran and Havana to benefit from each other's experiences in confronting this embargo.
Fars news agency quoted Abdullahian as saying, during his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Special Envoy of Cuban President Ricardo Caprisas, who is currently visiting Tehran to hold the 18th meeting of the Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation between the two countries, that "Cuba is a strategic partner for Iran," and that holding this meeting is a good opportunity for both sides to explore ways Developing relations and enhancing political cooperation between them, calling for expanding cooperation in various fields.
Abdullahian added: The level of relations between the two countries is worthy of trust, especially in the field of joint production of vaccines, stressing the will of the current government to implement cooperation documents, previous understandings and new agreements.
In turn, Caprisas praised Iran's strong role in supporting the relations between the two countries in facing the unilateral US sanctions against Cuba, stressing that his visit and the convening of the 18th joint meeting of economic cooperation between Havana and Tehran serve the strategic relations.
