The singer Britney Spears has lost the baby she was expecting, according to a note signed by her and her partner, Sam Asghari, who posted this Saturday on Instagram, where the artist has 40 million followers.

The announcement comes a month after the pop star announced that she was pregnant with her third child shortly after her release.

“This is a devastating moment for any mother and father”, they affirm to add: “Perhaps we should have waited to announce it until (the gestation) was more advanced”.

The couple ask that their privacy be respected and say they will continue "trying to expand their precious family."

The star had to wear an IUD (an intrauterine device) to avoid getting pregnant again as part of the harsh legal guardianship regime to which she was subjected at the request of her father for 13 years.

Hence, she rushes her to have a baby with her current partner, a model 12 years younger than Spears.

Spears had already confessed during the trial her desire to be a mother again.

The singer said it last June, at the first court hearing in two years that was held in the trial to end the legal custody of her father, Jamie Spears.

"I want to get married and have a baby," said the artist.

Wearing an IUD was just one of several details that the artist revealed in court in search of her freedom.

The control also required that she take psychiatric medications and that she attend therapy three times a week.
