A Swedish treasury wants to finance the Hofolding West senior center.

The last entrepreneur had dropped out because the business had obviously not paid off for him in the end.

Brunnthal

– The plans for a large "Hofolding West senior citizens' center" have picked up speed again.

After a potential investor jumped off, a Swedish financial institution now wants to handle the large-scale project with several buildings on the western outskirts of Hofolding and south of Sauerlacher Straße in what was previously a mixed-use area.

With a clear majority of 16:2 votes, the municipal council voted for a corresponding change in the land use plan and the decision to prepare a development plan procedure.

With inpatient care

In addition to the construction of a fully inpatient care facility with around 80 beds, there are also plans to create a short-term care facility and employee apartments.

In addition to the early participation of the responsible authorities, the next step is also that of the population.

The topic of the senior center will therefore be presented to the public at the Brunnthal town hall meeting on June 2nd (7 p.m., Landgasthof Brunnthal).

The municipal council also spoke out in favor of clearly pursuing goals within the framework of land use planning.

This includes maintaining socially stable resident structures, taking into account the social needs of the population and in particular the elderly, as well as further development of the district of Hofolding in terms of design and environmental protection.

Proof of parking space not sufficient?

The latter falls short in the current plans for the Greens in the Council.

Hilde Miner and Michael Lechner voted against.

Lechner was annoyed that in the plan sketches the necessary proof of parking space should be fulfilled at ground level on areas previously used for agriculture.

"These are good areas," emphasized Lechner.

"It is simply no longer possible that further areas will be sealed here," added Miner.

Both demanded an addition, according to which the investor should be obliged to build an underground car park.

Too high hurdles

Mayor Stefan Kern (CSU), on the other hand, pointed out that "the last potential investor jumped out precisely because the community set hurdles that were too high".

From the point of view of the head of the town hall, this should not happen again.

Robert Huber (PWB) disagreed.

The former investor didn't jump off because the community was to blame, but because the property prices were too high.

In terms of content, however, Huber followed Kern's campaigning for the cause.

"Demographics and the aging of society" are "hardly to absorb anymore".

You have to create building rights for such projects in order to ensure long-term care for the elderly and also to support the district.

“Of course it has to fit into the urban planning.

And we don't want to take over the care of the elderly for Munich either," emphasized Kern.

But the demand is also constantly increasing in the district and in our own municipality.

"Today" in the municipal council, only the "encirclement is tightened", emphasized Siegfried Hofmann, head of the building department.

It is about the area framework, not about the detailed planning, such as the parking space or underground car park.

The Greens nevertheless stuck to their rejection.

Miner and Lechner emphasized that one cannot agree without an underground car park.

The majority saw the priorities differently.

The project has started again.
