The new initiative "Tutzing klimaneutral 2035" is very popular.

She is not only planning four working groups - but also a citizens' initiative.

Tutzing

– The meeting room of the Tutzing town hall has not been so well attended for a long time.

The founding meeting of the new initiative "Tutzing klimaneutral 2035" (we reported) on Thursday evening resembled a citizens' meeting with around 50 participants.

Mayor Marlene Greinwald spoke of an “initial spark”.

The municipality cannot master the challenge alone, so she is very happy about this impetus.

Marco Lorenz, one of the initiators, was amazed at "the dynamics it got".

As a local group, the initiative is based on the climate protection organization "German Zero".

There are four designated working groups for important subject areas.

One of them should be responsible for a citizens' initiative.

Possible question: "Are you in favor of the municipality of Tutzing immediately commissioning a planning office that will draw up a climate action plan for climate neutrality in Tutzing by 2035 within a year?" Lorenz hopes that this will result in an action plan tailored to Tutzing's conditions.

The first "climate vision" derived from national data is a rough plan, he said in response to critical comments.

In a community with up to 10,000 inhabitants, 1,000 signatures would have to be reached, explained Lorenz' wife Uta Waldau.

Another working group will continue to organize Tutzinger Climate Days in the future.

Hanna Krause, a teacher at the elementary and middle school, and Flora Weichmann, member of the Greens, want to draw the bow further, also with the local business community.

One idea is the Tutzinger Repair Café, which is scheduled to open next week.

A third working group should be an ideas workshop and set up a platform.

Manuel Lorenz, who suggested this, considers projects that can be implemented quickly, such as the Repair Café, to be important.

There are already 60 ideas on a list in Bernried alone, said Konrad Lang, who came from the neighboring community as a “passionate climate protector” and is one of the supporters of “German Zero”.

He recommended not involving experts at first, but letting common sense prevail.

A fourth working group is to take care of public relations, which Marco Lorenz considers essential.

A logo of the initiative was ready in time for the founding meeting.

Lorenz has already had a number of stickers printed to publicize the campaign on car windows, backpacks and many other places.

"Please register on our website", Lorenz asked those present, "we are happy to take advantage of any help that is made available to us".

There is no lack of preparatory work in Tutzing.

Bernd Pfitzner, municipal councilor of the Greens, reported on a number of climate protection activities over the years.

In a historical outline, he mentioned numerous advances on the local agenda (2001) through the founding of a climate pact (2008) to membership in the Oberland energy network (2021), which Tutzing is the only municipality in the district to have joined.

The planned joint energy agency for the districts of Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg and Starnberg stands for regional cooperation.

Pfitzner considers professional work in climate protection to be essential.

He emphasized: "We can't do it on a voluntary basis."
