Ciudadanos presented their ballot papers this Saturday for the upcoming Andalusian elections on June 19.

In the middle of Gran Capitán boulevard, in Córdoba, the Cs candidate for the Board, Juan Marín, has brought to the podium, one by one, the heads of the list of each constituency.

The formation faces in little more than a month another electoral process with the polls against it and a highly maligned brand at the national level, so Marín's campaign will focus on emphasizing, over and over again, that the "change ” and the “good results” of the community are due to its action in the coalition government.

“We come with our homework done to present our candidacy to continue governing Andalusia.

That is the objective: to continue governing Andalusia”, the vice president stressed during his speech.

The Cs candidate for the Board has been supported by the president of the party, Inés Arrimadas, and other leaders of the formation, such as the deputy in Congress for Malaga, Guillermo Díaz, or the spokesman in the Catalan Parliament, Carlos Carrizosa.

“In this campaign we present ourselves with the satisfaction of what we have done.

We cannot lose this change”, Arrimadas reiterated in her speech.

"These elections are about deciding if we want to continue along the same path that was undertaken in 2018. Only in three and a half years have we turned the sock around in Andalusia," added the leader of Cs, who has accused the president of the Junta, Juan Manuel Moreno, to carry out "experiments with Andalusia" in the PP race to La Moncloa.

An attack that Marín had previously slipped: “We spoke to the Andalusians clearly.

Juan Marín: "The PP is going to miss us a lot"

The Marín team is preparing a campaign focused on "face to face" on the street, in which the big acts will be in the background.

The party will fight the battle for the "story" to the PP and will highlight that the "great achievements" of the Board respond to its entry into the Government and the ministries that Cs has led.

We do more than what we say”, insisted the Andalusian leader.

But, even so, and aware of the poor results predicted by the polls.

Marín has called for "forgetting" about the polls.

The latest study by the Center for Andalusian Studies (Centra) grants two seats to Ciudadanos in the next elections, compared to the 21 it achieved in 2018. The party's internal estimates range between zero and five, with seats from Malaga, Seville and Cadiz as main objectives.

💪 Cs continues with the same enthusiasm as 2018.

The Andalusian vice president has stressed that "it was not necessary" nor to present the names that lead the starting positions because the citizens "know everything they have done."

But the truth is that the difficulty in closing the electoral lists has worsened this last week with the trickle of desertions —continuous since the date of the elections was announced—.

In fact, the board of directors of the local Córdoba group resigned this Thursday, just two days before the presentation ceremony in the same city.

Doubts about the future of the formation and the small number of seats they could obtain have influenced the configuration of the ballots from the beginning.

The party has prepared the lists under a strategy with which to save, as far as possible, the people closest to Marín in the next legislature.

Configuration of the lists

That the vice president was going to head the list for Seville was not in doubt, since it has been the pattern that Cs has followed in the two electoral processes in which the party has participated in Andalusia.

In both cases, the candidate for the presidency of the Board has also been number one for Seville.

Once with Marín in the starting position of the Sevillian ballot, the formation made the calculations for the rest of the positions and positions.

Marín wanted to save the president of the Parliament, Marta Bosquet, who in the last legislature concurred for Almería, a province where training has no chance, and Teresa Pardo, the parliamentary spokesperson.

He also wanted to keep the Minister of Employment, Rocío Blanco, and took it for granted that the Minister of Equality, Rocío Ruiz -the brake on Vox's policies in the Government and one of the voices critical of Marín-, would go to Huelva, where neither They have many options, according to training sources.

Finally, Ruiz, who has opened the act in Córdoba, will attend as head of the list for Cádiz, where the best forecasts give him a seat.

Ciudadanos has turned the pre-campaign into attacking Vox and from the party they consider that the candidacy of Macarena Olona could lead some votes towards their formation, according to party sources.

In this strategy, the presence of Ruiz, the object of much of the criticism of the ultra formation in this legislature and who has been asked to resign on several occasions, plays an important asset.

The vice president has chosen to place Bosquet as number two for Seville, a seat that Cs could tie together with that of Malaga.

A province where, on the contrary, the calculations have failed: Teresa Pardo lost the primaries to head the lists for that constituency, last week, against the territorial delegate of the Board in the province, Nuria Rodríguez.
