Another step on the way to the new nursing home building on Lenggrieser Karwendelstraße has been taken.

Caritas and the community have signed the lease for the planned property.

Lenggries – The road was a long one and there were a few obstacles to be overcome.

But on Friday, Lenggries mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher and Caritas board member Gabriele Stark-Angermeier signed the lease for the planned nursing home on Karwendelstrasse.

The Caritas Association rents the new building with around 90 places and an offer of short-term care after its completion.

If all goes well, the home should go into operation in spring 2025.

On May 16, the planning application for the new nursing home will be discussed in the municipal council

The next important step on this path: Next Monday, the municipal council will discuss the building application.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Bad Tölz newsletter.

"We are now looking forward to further constructive cooperation with the aim of creating a modern and attractive home for senior citizens on Karwendelstrasse in Lenggries," said Stark-Angermeier.

“In general, there is a high demand for inpatient care places in the region.

Due to the demographic developments and due to the overall senior policy concept of the district, there will be a continuously high demand," Klaffenbacher is quoted as saying in a press release.

Production kitchen has been eliminated to reduce construction costs

The will to work together has always been present on both sides in recent years.

And yet there was some debate.

The problem was the construction costs: In November 2020, the calculation was around 20 million euros.

The community has to invest, but the whole thing is refinanced through the rent paid by Caritas.

This in turn is reflected in the contribution that the individual resident has to pay.

In "constructive discussions" they agreed on "further planning with a reduced floor plan variant", reports Doris Schneider, manager of the 27 Caritas old people's homes in Munich and Upper Bavaria.

The production kitchen has been deleted, and the structure has become a lot slimmer.

The new building replaces the aging district nursing home

The new building replaces the old nursing home.

Since the district will withdraw as operator, the municipality will step in as an investor in the new building.

The Diözesan-Caritasverband was selected as the future operator in 2019 after an application process.
