Malik Harris is representing Germany at the ESC 2022 today.

But winning is not his priority - quite the opposite.

He even wishes that Ukraine bring victory home.

Turin – The final of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest 2022 (here all ESC news on the topic page) will take place today at 9 p.m. in Italy.

40 countries wanted to make it to the final, only 25 made it - including Germany.

But no one really expects a high ranking.

The win isn't important to Malik Harris either, he even hopes that Ukraine will win.

ESC final 2022 in Turin: Malik Harris wishes Ukraine victory

Today Ukraine is the absolute favorite in the final of this year's ESC (The grand finale of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on TV and live stream).

The German participant Malik Harris also wishes for a blue and yellow ESC victory.

"I would be happy and proud if the Kalush Orchestra won this year," he reveals in an interview with the editorial network Germany.

"It would be a very strong sign if Europe declared Ukraine the winner," said Malik Harris about Ukraine's role as favorites (all candidates of the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin on May 14).

"And beyond that, I think the title 'Stefania' is really mega."

The fact that Malik Harris with his song "Rockstars" (ESC 2022: overview of all countries, songs and singers) is considered the best contender for last place does not bother him personally.

"That's really completely irrelevant to me," he admits shortly before the ESC final.

“In the light of politics, everything else recedes into the background.

I have two goals here: I want to do my best and I want to enjoy it.

And when I can do those two things, I'm happy.”

ESC fans will find out tonight at the latest how Malik is doing and whether Ukraine is really winning.
