Ben-Zayed al-Nahian passed away yesterday (Friday) at the age of 73. In recent years, the president of the Arab Federation has suffered from a serious health condition.
In 2014 he suffered a stroke that disrupted his function and since then the one who has taken his place has been his half-brother, Muhammad bin Zayed, the heir apparent.
Following the death of the leader, it was decided in the UAE to lower the flags to half-mast for 40 days of mourning, as well as to disable state institutions for three days.
