How much dirt is in the washing machine?
(jojo_con82)
How annoying is it to open the washing machine at the end of its operation, pull out our clean towels or sheets and find that they smell just like they smelled when we put them in the machine?
We all strive for clean and fragrant laundry that we can wear and curl up in with pleasure, but when faced with hard water in the machine - it can be a not-so-simple challenge to maintain its freshness.
Cleaning and organization guru Stephanie Booth, a resident of Georgia, claims that there are three secret ingredients, each of which will be added to the machine to help the laundry come out fresh and fragrant - and we'm pretty sure you already have at least one of these ingredients at home.
In a video she shared, she said: "The minerals in hard water can make it very difficult for your detergent to do the job you want it to do ... that is, to clean your fabrics. Here are three effective wash boosters that will give your detergent the extra boost needed to get fresh, clean fabrics."

Stephanie suggests adding baking soda, baking soda (sodium carbonate or sodium carbonate) or borax powder (salt of boric acid found as a natural mineral in the sediments of salt lakes) to the machine.
Put on your regular detergent.
Then choose one of these ingredients and add half a cup of it directly to the drum of your washing machine.
The additive will remove bad odors and increase the odor of the basic detergent.
Stephanie added in the comments: "From my personal experience, it is recommended to wash towels like this from the day you purchased them. If you start using this method too late - it will be harder for you to revive the fibers."
