In winter, the pools remained two-thirds full to maintain pressure on the steel pool walls.

The bathing fans have been waiting longingly for this: today the open-air pool season begins at fresch without restrictions.

A first inspection.

Freising

– In the evening, when it gets dark, they start their work – silently, reliably and accurately: five robotic lawn mowers are in action at night to freshly transform the 10,000 square meter lying area of the Freising adventure pool into a perfect lawn: “And the result can something to be proud of,” says Operations Manager Alexander Frederking, proudly letting his gaze wander over the outdoor pool park – all in lush green.

The season starts here on Saturday.

And it's a very special season.

After two years of pandemic restrictions, the complete fresch is available to bathing fans this year, without a limited number of visitors.

Last year there were numerous barriers and regulations, above all only a maximum of 1000 guests were allowed in the outdoor pool.

This year there could be up to 4,000 like before.

"Finally a normal season again," says Frederking, "we are all really looking forward to it."

The early swimmers can already start at 6.30 a.m

And that's what visitors can expect: an arsenal of pools polished to a high gloss with a leisure pool (630 square meters, including four 25-meter lanes), a diving platform, a children's pool and, of course, the 1,000-square-meter 50-meter pool.

This is where passionate swimmers feel at home, and from today they are allowed in as early as 6.30 a.m. (early swimmers’ ticket, side entrance).

The leisure pool is open from 8 a.m. and the indoor pool from 9 a.m.

The mud pool can also be fully used again, and loungers can be hired again for the first time, for example for sunbathing on the various decks.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The beach volleyball facility and the climbing frame complete the offer.

"Everything is really there for a lot of action inside and outside," says operations manager Frederking.

And even smokers have been thought of with special (manageable) smoking areas.

Actually, there is a ban on smoking in the sunbathing area in order to avoid bothering the bathers - and a flood of cigarette butts.

Cigarettes on the perfect lawn?

The robotic lawnmowers would certainly not agree with that.

Good to know

The fresh starts the outdoor pool season on Saturday.

Opening times daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., plus the mentioned early swimmer times.

The sauna heats up until 10 p.m.

Massages can be booked daily from 10am to 9pm.
