There are five major routes to choose from in the southern district of Ebersberg.
Before the summer holidays, the decision should be made as to which of these will continue to drive the railway forward.

The railway has announced when the result of the route search by the district of Ebersberg should be completed.
In an interview, Aßling's mayor talks about the consequences.

– Even before the start of the summer holidays (August 1), Deutsche Bahn wants to announce where two new tracks are to be built on the route from Munich to the Brenner Pass in the southern district of Ebersberg.
The DB planners must expect complaints from residents and conservationists against the project.
In addition, the selected route, which is selected from the five existing rough routes, must pass the planning approval procedure and the Bundestag.
That's why the group tries to offer as little argumentative and legal vulnerability as possible.
For the mayor of Aßling, the new track construction in his community is a huge problem.
In an interview, Hans Fent (independent) talks about how things will continue.

- Mr Fent, recently you called for a sixth route, a full tunnel, probably not quite seriously. Do you believe in it?
Not a complete tunneling.
It is technically feasible, but not the order of the railways.
They have to find the best cost-benefit route.
But I wish for many, many tunnel parts.
- There are five variants to choose from. What's in store for Aßling?
Each line affects people and nature differently.
Some route will lead through our area if the burner inflow is realized.
My big will is that this will be processed properly.
- How much trust do you have in the catalog of criteria and the planners?
Maximum trust in the catalog of criteria and the selection process.
It seems to me that competent people are doing this.
"Every citizen must understand the decision!"
- The Turquoise route enjoys great support in the municipal council. But not from you. How so?
After the initial euphoria, the municipal council is now thinking in a more differentiated way, I think.
I cannot rely on the promise of the railways with the best possible noise protection.
She didn't provide a reasonable cost estimate for this, so be careful!
- Does the burner supply have to come in the district?
I am in favor of the two-track new line, even if I would have preferred a solution via the eastern corridor instead of through the bottleneck in Munich.
Unfortunately, I've been taught better over time - that this is a set project.
The kilometer-long queues of trucks have to get onto the rails.
We have to make the best of it.
- So you will ultimately accept the route decision?
Yes.
But we always look to see where improvements can be made.
I want to get the best out of it for the citizens, for nature and for agriculture.
Very important: Everything must be comprehensible based on the catalog of criteria.
Every citizen must understand the decision!
Then that's the best way for Aßling.
