All covet the crown of Miss Paris 2022. After a first casting on April 8, the penultimate stage of this beauty contest took place this Friday at the Elysées Marbeuf school in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.
Founded by the Clarins family in 1953, this private establishment - which trains in beauty and luxury professions - is organizing this event for the sixth consecutive year, under the aegis of the Miss Île-de-France committee.
Next step: June 19, at the Lido, where a jury made up of various members of the Miss Paris committee and the Île-de-France committee will designate the future ambassador of the capital.
“No more age limit”
The only certainties: the new Miss Paris will be over one meter 70 tall, she will be a resident of the capital and she will be over 18 years old.
"These are the 3 criteria for applying", confirms Béatrice Attard, the president of the Miss Paris committee.
Until now, only young women under the age of 25 could compete.
A criterion which is one of the many grounds for criticism by feminist associations, which regularly denounce "a retrograde and sexist competition".

"It's over since this year, assures Béatrice Attard.
The Miss France committee has changed the rules.
It is no longer necessary to be unmarried.
And there is no longer an age limit.
“Only one of the 12 Parisian candidates from the 2022 vintage exceeds the 24 years previously regulated, from the top of her… 25 years.

It remains to be seen whether the lucky winner will experience as dazzling a career as the defending champion.
Diane Leyre, elected Miss Paris 2021 last July, rose one by one through the ranks to become the new Miss France 2022. The 24-year-old young woman, holder of a degree in international business, had won the title of Miss Île- de-France in October, before distinguishing herself two months later among the 29 regional misses in the running.
