With the participation of more than 100 male and female athletes from eleven governorates, the Cycling Federation held in the vicinity of the ancient castle of Hama the Republic Championship for all age groups, males and females.

The male category competitions resulted in the Damascus countryside player Bakr Noman winning the Cubs category, Hama Ibrahim Al-Halabi player in the junior category, Damascus player Anas Al-Sharif in the Youth Championship and his colleague Abdullatif Al-Samman in the men’s category under 23 years.

In the women’s championship, the first places were won by Tartous player Raghad Zaarour in the cub category, Damascus player Raghad Hasna in the women’s category and her colleague Fatima Shouk in the young women’s category, while Latakia player Maha Shamlas won the title of women’s under-23 category.

The head of the Cycling Union, Khaled Kokash, told SANA reporter that the championship was characterized by wide participation from different governorates, and excitement and rivalry were present in all races, whether for males or females, pointing out that the game is in continuous development and this will increase in the future, especially after his recent election as a member of the Arab Cycling Federation, which will allow the way Wide opportunity to participate in the upcoming Arab championships.
