Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip Yahya Sinwar arrived today (Saturday) for a condolence visit on the death of reporter Sheerin Abu Akala at the Al-Jazeera headquarters in Gaza.

This is his first public appearance since tensions arose between Hamas and Israel last week, following the attack in Elad.

"I'm not hiding and we do not account for the occupation," Sinwar said during the visit.

It will be recalled that after the attack and Sinwar's statements regarding the need to carry out attacks, there were demands in Israel to eliminate it.

During a visit, Sinwar said: "Whoever made the decision to bomb al-Jazeera's office, and whoever made the decision to break Giwara al-Badiri's hand in Sheikh Jarrah, is the one who made the decision to eliminate Sheerin Ibn Akla."

Sinwar added that "the martyr Abu Akala was assassinated more than once, when she was injured, then in the many attempts to prevent her funeral from taking place properly, and by attacking her coffin."
