More or less respected teaching schedules, abundant educational tools, insufficient evaluations... If we are to believe the recent report of the general inspectorate on "education in middle school" (CM1 and CM2), this pivotal moment between primary school and college, there is cause for concern.
The inspectors, who observed 160 classes in 29 departments of the French territory, note that the pupils of the school of the Republic are not housed in the same boat.
According to the schools, breaks range from one hour a week to more than three hours, "
leading to significant inequalities in the treatment of pupils"
.
Work at home, too, is very variable.
If almost all the teachers give oral and written work - the latter being however prohibited by the circular of 1956 in the name of equality between the pupils -, the differences are important, and this personal work is lower in the disadvantaged establishments.
