Although he returned to communicate with his family, his condition is still defined as serious • Relative: "Even when he was beaten fatally, he thought about how to make the children as little sad as possible" • The second wounded man from the attack is still unconscious

Elad resident Shai Ben Shlomo (38) regained consciousness this morning (Sunday) after a week and a half in which he was hospitalized, after he was injured in a terrorist attack in Elad in which three people were killed.

He began to communicate little with his family but his condition was still difficult but stable.

During the attack, Ben Shlomo was in the park with four of his children.

The terrorists attacked him with axes and severely wounded him in the head.

Fortunately the children were not harmed.

He was taken in critical condition to Beilinson Hospital where he underwent surgery, was anesthetized and resuscitated.

"Even when he received fatal blows, he thought of how to cause as little grief as possible to the children. With an open mind and terrible blows to the body, he took them half unconscious, hid them, protected them, and collapsed," wrote his brother-in-law, Nathaniel Yakubov.

"It is not understood how the terrorists were able to ax my brother-in-law with his small children by his side and see everything ??? How will these children be able to recover in life more ??? Why do small children have to wake up at night and ask where Dad is ???"

The condition of the second victim of the attack, 68 years old, is still unconscious.
