We had been looking forward to this day for a long time: the Nandlstadt Youth Brass Band had its first official performance.

There was support from the a cappella group Auer Voices.

Nandlstadt

– On Saturday the time had finally come: three years after it was founded, the Nandlstadt Youth Brass Band was allowed to publicly demonstrate its skills for the first time.

Together with the a cappella ensemble Auer Voices, the young musicians attracted around 250 music lovers to the Hopfenhalle and roused the audience to storms of enthusiasm.

Although the Nandlstadt Youth Brass Band has existed since 2019, there has not yet been a performance due to the Corona situation, as conductor and good soul of the formation Helmut Schranner explained in the introduction.

The youth brass band came into being from the first graduating class of wind instruments at the elementary and middle school in Nandlstadt. In the meantime, the band has grown to include 30 young artists.

The fact that they were still able to put on a concert despite the adversities of Corona was a “sensational achievement” for Schranner.

For the first time since it was founded in 2019, the youth brass band performed in front of an audience under the direction of Helmut Schranner.

And that the youngsters had practiced diligently was already completely clear after the first notes of the "Sternpolka" - dynamic, precise and wonderfully implemented.

But anyone who believed that young people would only indulge in the classics of folk music was taught a lesson, as two movie themes in particular prove.

Impressively, the youth brass band brought Luke Skywalker to Nandlstadt with the famous signature of "Star Wars" - albeit with a very certain Bavarian touch.

The same applied to the theme song of "Pirates of the Caribbean".

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Above all, the audience was blown away by the interpretation of the Liquido song "Narcotic", which was brought to the stage by both ensembles and came along with so much pressure and charm that this version surpassed the original with a potential hit.

With "Bad Guy", "Human" and "Get Lucky", the exceptional vocal talents rounded off the short but very fine program with a lot of passion and even more talent.

Schranner also praised the choir director Thomas Hofstetter: “Huge respect!

If you imagine that Thomas used to be a student with us.”

The former vice-principal of the Nandlstadt middle school, Simon Pelczer, also expressed deepest appreciation.

You make us all very happy.” For him, the ensemble of the Auer Voices is no less than “the musical figurehead of the region”.

The a cappella formation recently became a member of the growing Musikverein Nandlstadt eV, to which the youth brass band also belongs.

"Without Helmut, the band would not be what it is now," emphasized the first chairman of the music association, Thomas Hässler.

"I'm very proud of this club."
