The State Department plans to soon remove five organizations from its list of terrorist organizations due to the assessment that they have already ceased to exist in practice and no longer pose a significant threat, the AP reported on Sunday.
Apparently the Jewish organizations Kahana Chai are also on the list.
The announcement of intent was already delivered to Congress on Friday, it was reported.
This move coincides with talks with Iran over the renewal of the nuclear deal, which stalled due to Tehran's demand to remove the Revolutionary Guards from the list.
It is not clear if the move is related, but it may be an attempt to prepare the ground for global public opinion, with the aim of creating a seemingly balanced picture.
Two other Islamic organizations have also been removed from the list, including a jihadist organization called MSC that has been operating in Gaza and firing rockets at Israel since its inception in 2012, as well as the jihadist Islamist organization al-Gama'a al-Islamiya, which has been working against the Egyptian regime for years. President Anwar Sadat.
